AFRICAN SUNSET

DESCRIPTION: The designs found on West African masks and textiles influence African Sunset. The "borders-within-borders" design uses bold, large scale, geometric stitches to interpret the design.  The stitcher will use an assortment of silk/wool blends and cotton threads to experience the effects of combining a variety of weights, sheens and textures.  The finished piece will fit a Sudbury wood serving tray or can become a lovely tasseled pillow.
