WILD ROSES OVAL BOX

DESCRIPTION: This lovely little Wild Roses Oval Box is blooming with beautiful roses, tiny embroidered flowers and leaves and ribbon spider roses. The roses are of varying sizes and are created with 4mm and 7mm ribbons and hand-dyed silk threads. The threads and ribbons come with names like Cottage Woods, Green Gables, Gilded Pink, Aegean Twilight, Winter Moss and Liquid Gold. Ten interwoven diagonal ribbons wrap around the sides of the box with all the patterns being created to give the illusion of those old-fashioned embroidered ribbons. We will discuss how these composite stitches were created and how students might create their own for future projects. The original was designed to fit within the framework of an intricate gold frame and clasp which surrounds the top (not included in the kit, but readily available).
